Day 1: Arica / Socoroma / Putre
The excursion starts at 09:30 a.m. From your accommodation or hotel, we make an express tour of the city, visit the Asoagro Terminal, a typical market in the north. We go through the Azapa Valley to observe panels of geoglyphs, highlighting “La Tropilla”. Entrance to the San Miguel de Azapa Archaeological Museum, where the oldest mummies in the world are found, we cross towards the fertile Lluta Valley, to enjoy a beautiful view of both valleys. Visit to the town of Poconchile and its main attraction the Church of San Jerónimo, a work dating from the 17th century. During the tour we can see the Quebrada de Cardones, where the Candelabra Cacti reign, located in a desert area, very close is the Magnetic Zone. We stop to take a panoramic view of the Pukara de Copaquilla canyon, a pre-Inca defensive fortress. Visit the charming Socoroma Valley, on the edge of a deep ravine. We finish in the Town of Putre (3,500 m.a.s.l.) Capital of the province of Parinacota, at approximately 6:00 p.m. accommodation in your lodging.
Day 2: Putre / Las Vicuñas National Reserve / Salar de Surire / Putre
At 08:30 hrs. Departure from Putre, we begin the excursion visiting the Las Cuevas area, observation of flora and fauna, a place of great natural beauty. We continue on our way to Pampa Ancochalloani, which allows us a panoramic view of the Payachatas Volcanoes, later we go to the Town of Ancuta, its small chapel stands out, we enter the Las Vicuñas National Reserve to fully enjoy the natural environment and its native fauna such as the vicuña, a mammal that mainly inhabits this territory. Continuing through the town of Guallatire, we make a small trek to get to know this pre-Hispanic town, its picturesque 17th century church stands out, in front of the imposing Guallatire Volcano, with a striking fumarole. Arrival at the natural paradise, the Salar de Surire (4,245 m.a.s.l.), time for walks and bird watching. Then we take a relaxing bath in the Polloquere Hot Springs, a place that resembles a lagoon where its temperatures reach 66 ° C. Return to the Town of Putre, approx. at 6:00 p.m. accommodation in your lodging.
Day 3: Putre / Lauca National Park / Chungará Lake / Arica
Departure from Putre at 08:30 a.m. We head towards the Lauca National Park, one of the most fascinating natural reserves. Stop in the Las Cuevas area, where we can take a walk and see the varied birdlife. Unparalleled panoramic view from the Mirador de Chucuyo, towards the Payachatas Volcanoes and all the majesty of the Andean landscape. We will be able to appreciate the charming Parinacota Bofedal, made up of llamas and alpacas, in the vicinity we find the Town of Parinacota, of pre-Columbian origin with its 17th century colonial church. On the way we see the Cotacotani Lagunas, islands in a volcanic lava field, of great scenic beauty. We contemplate one of the most visited tourist destinations; Chungará Lake (4,530 m.a.s.l.) has a spectacular view surrounded by various snow-capped peaks. We finish our excursion with a breathtaking bath in the Jurasi Baths. Return to the City of Arica, approx. at 6:30 p.m. accommodation in your lodging or transfer to the airport.
