Day 1: Arica / Lauca National Park / Chungará Lake / Putre / Arica
The excursion starts at 08:00 a.m. From your accommodation or hotel, we take the international road to enter the Lluta Valley where you can see a panel of geoglyphs.
We visit the Church of San Jerónimo and the Poconchile Cemetery dating from the 17th century.
During the ascent you will be able to appreciate the Quebrada de Cardones and its Candelabra Cactus, located in a desert area.
Then we will be on a mysterious place like the Magnetic Zone, we go to the Pukara de Copaquilla, strategically located as a pre-Inca defensive village.
Continuing to the Tambo de Zapahuira, place of rest and storage during the Inca power, panoramic views of the viewpoints of the Socoroma Valley and the Town of Putre, capital of the Province of Parinacota. In the background the spectacular view of the Nevados de Putre, we enter the Lauca National Park, we will continue with a short walk to appreciate a colony of vizcachas in the Las Cuevas sector, a privileged panoramic view of the Payachatas Volcanoes, visit to the Parinacota Town and its beautiful Church declared a national monument dating from the seventeenth century.
The Cotacotani Lagoons stand out for their turquoise colors and the unmissable destination is imposed as the Chungará Lake (4,530 m.a.s.l.) which is characterized by being the highest in the world and having all a scenic beauty surrounded by flamingos and the reflection of the volcanoes.
We descend towards the Town of Putre, touring its beautiful cobbled streets. Return to the City of Arica, at approximately 7:30 p.m.
